AHI Hosts Executive Chairman of Libra Group George Logothetis at Hellenic House

WASHINGTON – On October 30, 2024, the American Hellenic Institute hosted George Logothetis, Executive Chairman of Libra Group, at AHI’s headquarters in Washington, D.C.

AHI president Nick Larigakis thanked Logothetis for his long-standing support for AHI’s initiatives and stated “It was a pleasure to receive Logothetis at our headquarters in Washington, D.C. We deeply appreciate his contributions to our organization over the years and the many other initiatives he takes on globally. We are also thankful to Logothetis for his support of the American Hellenic Institute Foundation Student Foreign Policy Trip, which provides an opportunity for Greek American students to learn about US-Greece and US-RoC relations first-hand by visiting the countries and meeting with government leaders, military officials, and important corporations.”

The Libra Group is a privately owned, global business group with assets and operations in nearly 60 countries. The group encompasses 20 businesses involved in aerospace, renewable energy, maritime, real estate, hospitality, and diversified investments.

Logothetis additionally serves as the Chairman of Libra Group’s sister organization, Libra Philanthropies, which conducts charity work, initiates social programs, and supports people across the globe.

Logothetis became CEO of his family’s company, Lomar Shipping, at the age of 19. He grew the company from three ships to over fifty five in the following ten years. He founded Libra Group at the age of 28 and has seen tremendous success in his business endeavors, philanthropic contributions, and leadership roles on various boards, non-profits, councils, and other organizations.


The American Hellenic Institute is an independent non-profit U.S. public policy center and think tank that works to strengthen U.S. relations with Greece and the Republic of Cyprus, and promote issues important to the Greek American community.
