Elias Corner for Fish

THERE IS no menu at Elias Corner (2402 31st Street, Astoria, NY; 718-932-1510)—instead the waitress will rattle off the fresh fish of the day, sides, veggies, and wine options, all in that order. It may not be the most popular of restaurants at this juncture, having been dethroned some decades ago by the now famous for seafood restaurant Taverna Kyclades, which took over as number one from Elias Corner.
Elias Corner is housed in a large space that includes a covered patio, and like most neighbors is open seven days a week for lunch and dinner. Its owner, Elias, and his brother are both putting a lot of hours of work, not only overseeing the operation but working on the line.
