The monthly distributions of the Hellenic Relief Foundation and their partner organization continued shortly before the big distribution for Easter, in order to support those in need who are feeling the effects of the financial crisis more intensely, due to the increased prices in basic food products. The monthly distribution was held, as usual, at their headquarters in Athens, in partnership with the Social Committee of the Athenian Society. The food packages, provided to financially weakened families and single households, contained pasta, rice, flour, orzo, oil, and more. In total, around 350 food packages were distributed. In addition, food was provided to the Meropeio Nursing Home of Athens, the St. Nicholas Foundation, and the Special Needs School of Pireaus. The beneficiaries were also able to obtain lighter clothing for themselves and their families, as the weather is getting warmer, donated by the omogenia through a number of Philoptochos groups from parishes in New Jersey, as well as individuals who support the H.R.F’s efforts.
The distribution was conducted under COVID-compliant protocols, including taking the temperature upon entering the premises, and providing either proof of vaccination, antibodies, or a negative rapid test. It was organized under the direction of Ms. Maria Siourdi, director of the H.R.F’s partner organization, and with the assistance of volunteers including Soula Belli, Antonia Pantouvaki, and Nota Alamagkou.
The H.R.F.’s distribution efforts, which have been ongoing monthly since 2012, are made possible by the monthly support of the H.R.F.’s corporate donors including the N. Konstantopoulou Group, Agrovim, the Social Committee of the Athenian Society, Food Bank, Loulis Mills, Arla Foods, and others.

The Hellenic Relief Foundation Inc. is a non profit organization (501(c)3) and was founded in 2012, with the goal of raising funds in the United States to be used towards the purchase of food items, and other basic necessities for the underprivileged in Greece that have increased in numbers due to the current crisis. To date, around 800,000 dollars have been remitted, and with donations within Greece, as well as volunteered social and medicinal services, the true value of the aid is roughly 1.5 million dollars. Συνεχείς οι διανομές της ΕΛΕΘΣΥ λίγο πριν τη μεγάλη διανομή του Πάσχα ώστε να στηριχτούν συνάνθρωποί μας σε ανάγκη πολύ περισσότερο τώρα που η οικονομική κρίση είναι πιο έντονη λόγω της αύξησης των τιμών σε βασικά προϊόντα διατροφής. Η πραγματοποίηση της διανομής, έγινε όπως πάντα από την Ελληνική Εθελοντική Συμπαράσταση και το Hellenic Relief Foundation στις εγκαταστάσεις τους στην Αθήνα, σε συνεργασία με το Κοινωνικό Παράρτημα του Συλλόγου των  Αθηναίων. Τα δέματα των περιείχαν βασικά τρόφιμα όπως ζυμαρικά, ρύζι, αλεύρι, κριθαράκι, λάδι κ.α. δόθηκαν σε αδύναμες οικονομικά οικογένειες και μοναχικά άτομα. Συνολικά διατέθηκαν περίπου 350 δέματα τροφίμων. Επιπλέον, δόθηκαν τρόφιμα στο Μερόπειο Ίδρυμα, στο ίδρυμα Άγιος Νικόλαος, στο Ειδικό Σχολείο Πειραιά ενώ οι ωφελούμενοι είχαν τη δυνατότητα να πάρουν πιο ελαφριά ενδύματα για τους ίδιους και τα μέλη της οικογένειάς τους λόγω και της αύξησης των θερμοκρασιών, προσφορά των ομογενων μέσω της Φιλοπτώχου των ενοριών εκκλησιών του New Jersey και συνανθρώπων μας που έχουν αγκαλιάσει την προσπάθειά μας.

Η διανομή πραγματοποιήθηκε με τήρηση όλων των απαραίτητων υγειονομικών πρωτοκόλλων (θερμομέτρηση, επίδειξη πιστοποιητικού εμβολιασμού ή νόσησης, rapid test)  υπό τις οδηγίες της υπεύθυνης της ΕΛΕΘΣΥ κ. Μαρίας Σιούρδη και των εθελοντών Σούλας Μπέλλη, Αντωνίας Παντουβάκη, και Νότας Αλαμάγκου.

Χορηγοί σταθερά το Hellenic Relief όπως κάθε μήνα από το 2012 και επιπλέον  ο Όμιλος Ν. Κωνσταντόπουλου, η Αγροβίμ, το Κοινωνικό Παράρτημα του Συλλόγου των Αθηναίων, η Τράπεζα Τροφίμων, οι  Μύλοι Λούλη, η Arla Foods κ.α.

To Hellenic Relief Foundation είναι ένας μη κερδοσκοπικός οργανισμός (non- profit, tax- exempt [501C3] organization). Ιδρύθηκε τον 2012 με σκοπό την συγκέντρωση χρημάτων στις Η.Π.Α. προς αγορά και διανομή τροφίμων και ειδών πρώτης ανάγκης σε αναξιοπαθούντες στην Ελλάδα.
