Leadership 100 Approves $7,094,900 in New and Prior Year Grants Total Since Founding Reaches $70 Million

The Executive Committee of Leadership 100, meeting at the 31st Annual Conference in Naples, Florida on February 9, 2022, approved 31 new and prior year grants, totaling $7,094,900, according to Argyris Vassiliou, Leadership 100 Chairman. The grants were recommended by the Grant Committee, Chaired by Justin Bozonelis. The prior year grants consist of installments of multi-year grants, as do several new grants. With a total of $4,460,150 in grants to be distributed in 2022, the total of grants distributed by Leadership 100 since its founding will reach $70 million.
There were 19 new grants totaling $4,767,000 with $2,482,250 to be distributed in 2022. They consisted of the following:
- St. Michael’s Home Expansion Grant – $2,000,000 over four years ($500,000 per year).
- Office of Ionian Village: Open IV Grant – $500,000, with $200,000 to be allocated in 2022 and $300,000 in 2023.
- Small Parish Program Grant – $440,000 over three years for four newly selected parishes. Each parish receives $50,000 for the first year, $35,000 in the second and $25,000 in the third.
- GOARCH Centennial Committee: Clergy Laity Congress History of the Archdiocese Exhibit Grant – $300,000.
- Department of Youth and Young Adult Ministries: Metropolis Camping Ministries Grant – $270,000, with $30,000 to support each of the eight Metropolis camps as well as one for the Direct Archdiocesan District.
- National YAL Conference: GOARCH Centennial Grant – $180,000.
- Department of Information Technology: Digital Experience Platform Pilot Program Grant – $175,000, with $85,000 to be allocated in 2022 and $90,000 in 2023.
- Archdiocesan Cathedral of Holy Trinity: Post Covid-19 Resilient Live Streaming and Safety Pilot Program for Parishes Grant – $174,000.
- Department of Stewardship, Outreach & Evangelism: OMS Parish Plan for Excellence Grant – $149,500, with $74,750 to be allocated in 2022 and 2023.
- Chancellor’s Office: Young Adult Summer Internship Program Grant – $120,000, with $40,000 to be allocated in 2022 and $80,000 in 2023.
- Office of Ionian Village: IV Next 2022 Grant – $100,000.
- Department of Information Technology: Ministry Intelligence Grant – $75,500.
- Department of Inter-Orthodox, Ecumenical and Interfaith Relations: Survey Orthodox Mission In America Grant – $75,000.
- Hellenic College Holy Cross School of Theology: HCHC Covid-19 Mitigation Costs Grant – Up to $50,000.
- Department of Stewardship, Outreach & Evangelism: Home Mission Parish Program Grant – $43,500.
- Department of Youth Safety Compliance: Youth Safety Awareness Grant – $40,000.
- Department of Communications: Digital Asset Management Grant – $35,000.
- Clergy Family Initiative: Presvytera Peer Learning Groups (CPLG) Grant – $22,000.
- Orthodox Christian Prison Ministry: Church History Class for Parish Jail Ministries Grant – $17,500.
The 12 prior year grants totaled $2,327,900 with $1,977,900 to be distributed in 2022. They consisted of the following:
- Hellenic College/Holy Cross Scholarship Program – $1,000,000.
- Archdiocese Clergy Pension – $250,000.
- Department of Youth and Young Adult Ministries: Effective Christian Ministry Training Grant – $235,000.
- Greek Fires Relief Fund Matching Grant – $200,000.
- St. Paul’s Autism Research and Training Academy: SPARTA Greece Grant – $80,000.
- Network of the Ecumenical Patriarchate for Pastoral Care: Fifth Annual International Conference of the Ecumenical Patriarchate for Health Care – $55,000.
- Department of Inter-Orthodox, Ecumenical and Interfaith Relations: Orthodox Christianity and Mental Health Grant – $50,000.
- Orthodox Christian Studies Center at Fordham University: Affirming an Orthodox Christian Theology of Human Rights Grant – $50,000.
- Department of Youth and Young Adult Ministries: Youth Safety Education Grant – $30.000.
- Department of Inter-Orthodox, Ecumenical and Interfaith Relations: Translation and Publication of “Dialogues Avec le Patriarche Athénagoras” Grant – $7,500.
- National Sisterhood of Presvyteres: Clergy & Presvyteres Congress Workshops/Dinners – $15,000
- Retired Clergy in Need Program – $5,400.
