Zorba’s | A New Name to Go with the New Place

HERE WE are at Zorba’s Fine Greek Cuisine (11225 Montgomery Blvd NE, Albuquerque, New Mexico; 505-323-2695), established in 2010 by Spiros and Marina Counelis, former owners of longtime perennial favorite across from UNM. With a new location, updated menu and their children, Gregory and Madeleine, they have launched a new venture located in the Northeast Heights. In the short time since opening, Zorba’s has received excellent reviews from the Albuquerque Journal, the Alibi and Albuquerque, The Magazine. It was even awarded a Hot Plate award in its first year.
Why the new name? Well, with a new look comes a new name, but not really. Zorba’s is revived from their first restaurant situated on Central and 6th Street, which introduced Greek food to New Mexico in 1972.
At Zorba’s they strive to offer you the finest food as opposed to just fine dining. The atmosphere is casual, reminiscent of sitting by the shore of your favorite Greek taverna gazing upon the azure sea and enjoying a satisfying meal. Come in and experience Greece and some of the finest Greek food in the Albuquerque area.
